All of us would agree that 2020 has been a challenging year for the health care industry. COVID-19 disrupted lives and businesses around the world, and we responded with several blog articles to try to help clinics recover and bounce back. In July, we added a new Reports Essentials course to our line-up of learning content. This fall, Dentrix Enterprise 11.0.2 CU3 was released, featuring new tools to help increase efficiency and the quality of patient care.

As we move into 2021, let’s take a look at some of our top viewed blog articles of 2020:

Generating a List of Active Patients

There may be times when you need to close your practice or make changes to your schedule and need a way to let your patients know about those changes. While Dentrix Enterprise currently does not have a way to email all your patients at once, you can create a list of active patients that you can then use in third-party applications, such as DemandForce or Lighthouse, to email your patients. There are several ways to get a list of your active patients: the Patient List feature and Letter Merge. Click here to read more.

Decoding Icons and Symbols in Dentrix Enterprise

You undoubtedly see a lot of patients throughout your workday. Some patients may have certain needs or circumstances that you should be aware of while providing treatment. Have you ever wondered what those symbols represent on appointments? Those symbols provide a visual cue that there’s important information about the patient, such as an alert or a specific medical need, or about the appointment that you need to be aware of during their visit. Dentrix Enterprise also provides specific symbols in other parts of the software, such as the Ledger, that provide important information. Let’s review the helpful icons and symbols that you may encounter in the Appointment Book and Ledger. Click here to read more.

How to Keep Busy During Office Downtime

On days when you find you have some extra downtime in your practice, how do you keep your team members busy? Not having the bustle of patients in the office will give you time to focus on tasks that may not get done every day, such as cleaning up your Dentrix Enterprise database. There are also several learning resources your team can access to sharpen their skills with Dentrix Enterprise.  Click here to read more.

Setting Up Custom Scheduling Time Blocks

As you begin to schedule patients for appointments following a temporary shutdown, you may want to consider setting up custom time blocks in the Appointment Book. By setting up custom time blocks and only scheduling specific appointment types within those blocks, your scheduling staff can easily schedule patients who are elderly, immune-compromised, or otherwise considered at risk or schedule patients for high-production procedures at the correct times. Click here to read more.

Emailing All of Your Patients at Once

Communicating with your patients is important. There may be times when you need to communicate to all your patients at once, for example, when you make changes to your practice schedule.

Dentrix Enterprise has tools to help you contact your patients through email. Dentrix Enterprise can create lists that can be read by Microsoft Outlook or a web-based email system.  Click here to read more.

We look forward to 2021 and hope to post many more helpful tips and updates on the blog to help you make the most of the new year!
