Managing multiple locations can be challenging and complex. It is imperative that you have a good understanding of the financial health and pulse of your organization by consistently checking key reports in Dentrix Enterprise. By doing so, you will get a good idea of where you to need to focus your attention to build a healthy and productive organization. This article lists key reports you should be running in Dentrix Enterprise and explains how reviewing these reports consistently can help you keep your organization healthy.

Key Financial Reports

Keeping your locations profitable and sustainable is the goal of every organization. Having a good understanding of your financial reports in Dentrix Enterprise can give you insights into the financial health of your organization. Here are three reports that can help do just that.

  1. Aging/Credit Balance Report – It is vital to the success of your organization to know which patients owe you money and which patients are owed money. The Aging/Credit Report can show you both. The Aging/Credit Report can help you focus your collection efforts on those accounts that are overdue on their payments. Use this report to help patients with balances get back on track as well as identify the accounts with a credit balance.

How Often? We recommend running this report at least monthly or as needed.

  1. Procedures Not Attached to Insurance Report – You always should ensure that completed treatment for insured patients is billed to their insurance company in a timely manner. Doing so will help you be able to collect revenue due from insurance more quickly. The Procedures Not Attached to Insurance report shows any procedures not yet billed to insurance.

How Often? We recommend running this report at least weekly, if not daily.

  1. Provider A/R Totals Report – Does your practice provide charity work or have professional discounts? Do you base payroll on productivity and need to know how credits and charges affect production? The Provider A/R Totals report displays production totals, taking into account adjustments to these amounts. For example, if a procedure was posted for $1000, but a $900 Charity Care credit was given to the patient, the Production A/R Totals report will show the procedure produced $100 in revenue, rather than $1000. Use this report to determine how productive providers or clinics are being.

How Often? We recommend running this report weekly, monthly, or annually depending on your needs.

Are you involved with scheduling patients for recare or making sure that your schedule is full? Here are two reports that can help you do your job better.

  1. Continuing Care Display List – Keeping patients coming back is not only good for their health, it is also necessary for the financial health of your organization. The Continuing Care list displays patients due for recare appointments based on how you have set up their defaults. The list has contact information, and you can easily set up recare appointments.

How Often? We recommend using this tool monthly.
