Dentrix Enterprise offers a great deal of flexibility when creating a perio exam. One such flexibility is the ability to use shortcut keys to help you enter the measurement information into Dentrix Enterprise. Each one can help you complete an exam quickly and efficiently. Below are a few different shortcuts and tips to help you:
Main Controls
CTRL + N
Starts a new exam for the patient.
CTRL + O
Opens an existing exam (if the patient has more than one exam).
CTRL + S
Saves the current exam.
F3
Opens the Perio Print Selections dialog box.
CTRL + F3
Opens the DXONE Printer Selection dialog box so you can select a default printer for the Perio Chart.
Alt + F4
Closes the Perio Chart. You will be prompted to save changes to the exam before it closes.
Data Entry Controls
Keyboard numbers
You can use your keyboard’s numeric keypad or the numbers on the top row to enter perio measurements. This works the same using the number keys in the Data Entry Controls.
Minus key
The Minus key on the keyboard allows for entry of probing depths of 10mm or greater. For example, pressing minus(-) then 0 will give you 10, pressing minus(-) then 1 will give you 11, and so forth. Note: This shortcut is only available with the 10-key numeric pad.
Asterisk (*)
Works the same as the Facial/Lingual button on the data entry controls. It toggles between the two surfaces of the selected tooth.
Enter
Use the Enter key to advance the selection through the current path and script settings.
Home
Pressing the Home key sets the cursor to the first position in the currently selected Navigation Script (usually Tooth #1).
Ctrl + Delete
Pressing this will clear all data for the selected side of the tooth.
B
Pressing the “B” key enters the Bleeding measurement of the selected site.
S
Pressing the “S” key enters the Suppuration measurement of the selected site.
CTRL + B
Sets BOTH Bleeding AND Suppuration for the selected site on the tooth.
Note: this doesn’t work as a “toggle” it only sets the B & S to “On” not “Off”
A
Pressing the “A” key expands the context menu for the Plaque of the selected tooth. You may then press the corresponding Number Key for your selection.
G
Pressing the “G” key expands the context menu for the Furcation measurement.
L
Pressing the “L” key expands the context menu for the Bone Loss of the selected tooth. You may then press the corresponding Number Key for your selection.
Navigation Controls
Page Up
Works the same as the Prev button on the data entry controls.
Page Down
Works the same as the Next button on the data entry controls.
Home
Works the same as the Home button on the data entry controls.
Delete
Clears all entries in the current selection. Works the same as the Clear button on the data entry controls.
Arrow keys
Works the same as the arrow buttons in the data entry controls.
View Options
Ctrl + C
Opens the Perio Comparitive Selections dialog box from where you can select the exams and information you want to compare.
Ctrl + Z
Opens the Quadrant Zoom display. It will zoom in to whichever Quadrant is currently selected.
Ctrl + D
Opens the Graphical Chart Display Options from where you can edit the colors for each measurement.
Ctrl + P
Opens the Paint Types dialog box where you can choose which paint types to include in the data chart.
Ctrl + U
Updates the perio chart to reflect any changes in treatment, for example, if a tooth has been extracted.
